SMINNO CruiseUp Cockpit App launched at Eurobike 2017

CruiseUp App Bike Navigation

Every year, Eurobike presents future trends and innovations of the bike industry. In 2017, digitalization and smart cycling clearly have been in the focus of the exhibition based in Friedrichshafen. The company SMINNO from Kassel, who developed the world’s first hands-free kit for bikes CESAcruise, has introduced its new cycling app CruiseUp to the 65.000 Eurobike visitors, synchronized to the app’s launch on Google Play Store.

The combination of the CESAcruise mount and CruiseUp is purposed to create a cockpit for the bike, which safely integrates the smartphone into bike traffic. The app bundles important smartphone functions and data and can be used via voice control. Here, the CESAcruise mount functions as sound amplifier for the phone, so that both hands stay at the handlebar while cycling. The beta-version of the app currently integrates navigation, a music player, and tracking options, such as distance and speed. The app also contains a horn.

CruiseUp Cockpit App

SMINNO develops innovative smartphone accessories and now has become a software provider. “We want to offer a safe and comprehensive solution to everyone who loves cycling and smartphones. The introduction of our cockpit app thus was the next logical and necessary step to go for us. The great feedback we got from our Eurobike visitors totally has confirmed that we did the right step”, says SMINNO CEO Sohrab Noorzaie.

For bike navigation, the app is linked to Google Maps. The cycling route is being calculated via voice command and once the tour has started, the cyclist is guided via spoken directions. “It was important to us to transfer the feeling of “being navigated”, which we already know from the car, to the navigation on the bike. With CruiseUp you can focus on the street and enjoy the tour”, says SMINNO CEO Khesrau Noorzaie.

The beta app is already available for free download on the Google Playstore. The full version of CruiseUp will be available on the app stores in the beginning of next year. Till then SMINNO is working on the development and integration of further functions.
